The Premier League is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most competitive football leagues in the world. But this doesn’t mean that they all have achieving teams. They also have their fair share of highs and lows, as what we can see with the dominating sides, and the not-so-lucky ones.

With the new season just starting, we still can’t tell for sure as to who will win the title, but we can, however, gauge each team and know which ones to expect at the top and the bottom in 2018-19 Premier League.

Teams Likely to Dominate In 2018-19 Premier League

2018-19 Premier League

Manchester City

Manchester City, the reigning champs who dominated the league last season, is the favorite to win the title this year. And what makes it even better for them is that they’ve gotten better with their offense and consistency.

Longtime target, Riyad Mahrez, has finally been acquired. He’s been an effective addition to the team, considering that he synced well with Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, and Bernardo Silva in their first games.

Having scored 15 goals and made ten assists last season is enough reason to expect the City to continue their excellence this time around. Also, Pep Guardiola is determined more than ever to not let everyone’s expectations down, at whatever the cost.

Liverpool

Liverpool is tipped to be the strongest rival of Man City for the title this season. Signing a record-fee for star goalkeeper Alisson Becker is good enough reason to have them in the favorites list, but Salah’s spectacular season even made their chances more promising.

They’ve bolstered their midfield lines as well with the recent signing of Naby Keita and Fabinho. Also, having Swiss footballer Xherdan Shaqiri will aid Jurgen Klopp to implement his strategic offenses at crucial games.

Many sports analysts predict that letting Fabinho and Alisson play together will create a duo that can fend off any attack that seemed impossible to break a season ago.

Everton

Everton isn’t the first club that comes to mind when talking of Premier League favorites. This season is an exemption though thanks to their success at last summer’s transfer window. They’ve signed Brazilian winger Richarlison who’s expected to support Cenk Tosun, and Theo Walcott keeps up with the forward lines.

Adding French wingback Lucas Digne will also boost their defense a lot. Yerry Mina, a renowned forward, will aid Marco Silva to focus on their attacks instead of their already competitive defense. Their strongest finish might be in the seventh spot, which is already a huge improvement from their previous seasons.

Arsenal

Losing long-time manager Arsene Wenger seems like a major downgrade for the Gunners, but it shouldn’t be taken that way. Arsenal is in dire need of a major revamp as what many can see with their stagnant gameplay.

Unai Emery got the skills and the experience to bring back the team’s glory, with the help of new recruits Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira. Leno will man the two posts while Torreira’s going to lead their midfield to success, that is, however, if Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey manage to keep up with their roles.

Manchester United

As Man City dominates the league, its rival, Manchester United seeks vengeance for their lost greatness. They’ve got Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, and Romelu Lukaku, who are all stars in their respective roles.

Jose Mourinho’s coaching brilliance will surely do a lot to set these players foot on the right path. Also, new recruit Diogo Dalot is likely to do a good job considering his proven track record in Porto. Many expect him to be the next captain of the team, but then again, he still has a lot to go through knowing that he’s still 19-years-old.

Underdog Teams In 2018-19 Premier League

Chelsea

On the other hand, here’s Chelsea that’s expected to have one of its worst seasons so far. The Blues went through a rough summer transfer window, kudos to owner Roman Abramovich’s preference of proven but aging stars.

Thibaut Courtois was sent to Real Madrid while Premier League newcomer Kepa Arrizabalaga entered the club with hopes of making a mark. But can he? We, together with countless others doubt.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur missed the summer transfer window, literally. In fact, they spent nothing on transfers. They looked for a way to get Jack Grealish from Aston Villa but failed. This is a big problem as the midfielder was supposed to aid their flimsy depth.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United lost its best forward, Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham, which is, by all means, a big loss to their hopeful squad. They’ve got no other choice but to depend on Salomon Rondon, Matt Richie, and Ayoze Perez for any hope of salvation from the big guns in the league.

Leicester City

Leicester City will play through the season without their go-to winger, Riyad Mahrez. The star winger just joined Man City, further bolstering their already strong offense. This means nothing more than pure destruction for the Foxes. To make things worse, coach Claude Puel didn’t do anything to make up for this huge loss during the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace will remain at the bottom and will continue to do so in the next seasons if they continue their meek games. Newcomers Cheikhou Kouyate and Max Meyer might help stabilize their midfield, but they still lack any sufficient playmaker to solve their ailing club.

Manchester City is the favorite to win this year’s title with 8/11 odds, succeeded by Liverpool’s 11/4 and Chelsea’s 14. Tottenham is currently aiming to overtake the Blues with their competitive 18 odds while Manchester United is looking to improve its 28 odds.

Everton might have a weak 250 odds, but that means that have a chance to go beyond Arsenal’s 50. Newcastle United gets 1000 odds, Leicester City gets 500, and Newcastle and Crystal Palace are tied with 1000 odds.

Anything can happen in the football world, which means that these odds can still go the other way around in the next weeks and months to come. To keep up with the latest changes, it’d be wise to check betting sites that give no deposit bonus offers to visitors.

This way, you’ll know which teams are on top, and if whether their odds are accurate to their performance this season.
